The call is out, the Bookclub’s illustrious hangout is set up, in lush velvets and varnished woods. The pots of Earl Grey are on the brew, and already, our members are gathering, discussing this terms book of choice for treatment;
Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring.
How will you interpret this most famous fantasy novel? Will you consider, like me, that perhaps all that party crap is over rated, and other parts of the opening should be emphasized? How will Gandalf fare in your treatment?
There is, of course, only one way to find out. Head on over towards the Kiwi Writers Forum, and join the challenge. You don’t have to do that to compete and participate, but if you’re a member of the forum, it’s an easy way to get your challenge count up.
The challenge is as this;
1. Rewrite chapter one of the book, in your own style.
2. Post it online, where others can enjoy it.
There’s no stress in this challenge (my Precious …), it’s just fun, so don’t worry about making a masterpiece. In my mindless enthusiasm for such mad challenges, I will probably make a page, linking back to your efforts, thus entrenching you in the Chapter One Rewrite Book Clubs ranks.
